J.T.'s Birthday!! The Big 3

J.T's Birthday fell on Father's Day. Here is J.T., Dad, and Great Grandpa playing Hungry Hippo's. J.T. Loves that game!! He also had a Birthday party at E & O Bowling Alley. Other than Teegan, Kolter and J.T. he had a bunch of girls at his party!!! We really need some more boys around here!!! I Love J.T. so much. He has such a great personality. One day we were talking about something and he says to me " Grandma that is ridiculous!!" only J.T. Happy Birthday J.T.!

Ice Cream Truck - Morman Ln. Every Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.

There is really no explaining to this!!! These kids love their Ice creams and they all look forward to Tuesday when the Ice Cream truck comes. So funny to watch them eat it!! Didn't get pictures of all the kids, but most of them needed a good washing up!! Raya was so funny. Her and Teegan really had the ice cream everywhere! LOVE IT!

Logan's Baby blessing!!

Don't know how it happened, but we didn't get pictures of the baby blessing!!! It was kind of a hectic Sunday. I didn't even think to get pictures of the Braithwaite and Nicholls last minuet reunion. All the Braithwaites were in Utah and all the Nicholls Family so they came to the baby blessing. It was fun to get all the kids together and to see the Familes grow!! Need to remember the camera next time!! Loads of fun though!!!

Johnny's Graduation!!

There is really not much of a need to say much. Needless to say John and Zan are so excited to be done with school!! I am also excited that they like Humboldt County and they get to live in Mckinleyville!! I hope they get to stay!! I love the grandkids being close to grandma!!!

Jaxson's Tooth!

Picture it is about 11:30 p.m. and I am downstairs at Becky's and Becky and Chris had gone to bed to get sleep before baby wakes up. I am watching T.V. when I hear Jaxson call GRANDMA, I get up from the couch and go to the bottom of the stairs and Jaxson is at the top telling me his tooth is loose and he can't sleep! I thought I had heard him earlier in the evening but I wasn't sure what about. I asked him if he couldn't just go back to sleep and worry about the loose tooth in the morning. He kept telling me he couldn't. I hated to wake up the parents so I told him he could try to pull it! He tried and wasn't successful and wanted me to pull it. It was so loose that it didn't take much for it to come out. Well from there it went down hill . You know how pulled teeth bleed, or at least mixed with spit it looks like a lot. I told him to hold still I had better get the camera to take pics for mom and dad. We did that and just as I snapped 2 pictures, he droped the tooth down the drain, got upset at the blood and proceded to ralph his guts out for at least 20 min. needless to say dad had to get up with him!! What a disaster it turned out to be. I told him the tooth fairy would find his tooth down the drain and he would still get money for his tooth which helped some!!! What a night. I will never do that again! especially by the sink!

I haven't posted in forever, my computer wouldn't download my pic. for some reason so I am going to do some catching up! First I went for the birth of Becky's 4th baby. Logan as you can see is sooo cute! I stayed for a short time, as I had to fly to Sacramento for Johnny's graduation (post is coming) then I flew back to Utah to help Becky some more with the baby as this one was another C-Section. I got back and immediately got sick and was confined to the bedroom for 3 days. Fat lot of help I was! I think Becky and Chris were ready to ship me home. The baby is soo cute can't wait for them to come for most of the month of July. Hope they survive the trip out. Kelly and Becky and all the kids in one car!!! EXCITING FOR THEM!

Utah Trip and Easter

I can't believe how time flies!!! I haven't posted since January. Where did February and March go????? I got to fly to Utah for Conference and stay for Easter!! We have had soo much fun playing with the grandkids, I hate to go home!! I forgot my camera at home, who knows what I was thinking so thanks to Becky I got a few pictures of the kids!!! They are all growing up too fast and my time went by so fast too!! I missed John and Zan and J.T. and Kolter for Easter, but they were up just before I left and hopefully will be moving back up to Mckinleyville at the End of May. I am sooooo excited to have grandkids live close!!! Enjoy the pictures!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY KELLY!!! I really need to start taking pictures of my kids without the grandkids. I couldn't find a picture of Kelly without kids. Kelly has brought so much excitement into her dad and my life there is too much to mention. There was never a dull moment with Kelly around. She especially always had her favorite spots to eat and I must say she was probably one of my most picky eaters in High School. Those days went by so fast it is hard for me to believe she is a mom and has two kids of her own. Dad and I love you soooo much Kelly and are glad you are our daughter, especially now the teenage years are over and you turned out to be the GREATEST!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN WE LOVE YOU!!! I won't tell everyone you are now the big 27, three years to 30!!

CHRISTMAS 2008

I have been so lazy at getting this post done. This Christmas was our off year with the kids but we ended up going and visiting John and Zan just before Christmas and then went to Utah to spend Christmas there as Chris and Becky wanted to spend Christmas at home this year. They invited us to come spend Christmas with them. With Kelly's in-laws living there we got to spend some time with Kelly and Shane and their family also. It was a great Christmas!!! I must admit I love the low stress remember the meaning of Christmas kind of Christmas. I will have to make myself remember that for next year. We all enjoyed each others company and tried to make Christmas simple. Thanks to all the kids for a great Christmas!!! Here are some Pics of the great holiday!!

I didn't get a whole lot of pictures at John and Zan's but we went bowling at a new bowling Alley near Johnny's. John and Zan make us Nicholls Trucking Shirts for Chirstmas which we all wore bowling. J.T. didn't quite know what to think about the bowling, but we all had a fun time!! Thanks John and Zan.

Christmas with Becky and Chris was so much fun and the kids enjoyed Christmas so much. Jaxson and Carter loved the elf that visited their house before Christmas. Chris's mom came for Christmas also. It was good seeing her and the kids enjoyed her visit also.

There was soooo much snow this year in Utah we had a white Christmas. I must say though that I really don't care for the snow. Becky was shoveling her driveway when we drove up and even Jaxson got in on the shoveling!! Chris took the kids to the hill by their house and went sledding!! They had a lot of fun, but I stayed in the house where it was warm! I deceided I will not live in the snow. Chirstmas morning Shane and Kelly called us when their kids got up and we got to go over and watch Kaylee and Aubrey Christmas morning. They are sooo cute to and we enjoyed spending time with them too!!!

Thanksgiving and the beginning of Christmas!!!!

Well I haven't posted in quite a while, I tried to get this post done a week ago and I couldn't get the computer to download the pictures. We had a great Thanksgiving all the kids and grandkids were home our plans changed at the last minuet and we ended up not going to Utah and everyone coming home. We had a great time with all the kids.
Payton was not happy at first with Thanksgiving dinner. She eventually stopped crying and ate like a trooper!!! She is usally the funniest little girl with a big mind of her own. Fun to watch and try to keep up with.

AUBREY, THE YOUNGEST GRANDCHILD. HAPPY MOST OF THE TIME AND SUCH A LOT OF FUN!
Kolter is the happiest and most easy going baby ever!!! He is also so much fun. Zan and Johnny were lucky with this little one.

Teaching the kids how to play games and not always winning. That is a hard lesson but we had a lot of fun playing SORRY while the interest lasted!!!

Aunt Danielle made cupcakes and brought all the stuff for all the kids to make Turkey cupcakes. She brought all the toppings and the kids had so much fun making their turkeys and then eating them. Thanks to Danielle for entertaining the kids on Thanksgiving evening. It was a great project and all the kids loved it.

I would have loved to get a picture of all the families but somehow it didn't work. Thanks to John and Zan who to took the time for a family picture!!!

Last but not least, this Christmas is our off year where all the kids have Christmas with their In-Laws or some of them are having Christmas at their own houses. John and I are going to Utah to spend Christmas there. Chris and Becky are staying home and we will be able to see Kelly and Shane as Shane's parents live in Utah. I wasn't going to decorate the house at all, but John really wanted to put up the small Christmas tree. The picture of the Christmas ornament above is the John Wayne christmas ornament Jaxson and Carter bought for him. If you don't know the story, the parents when they are at Grandma and Grandpa Nicholls put the kids to bed and Grandpa proceeds to get them up and puts on a John Wayne movie. If ever they get put to bed they always ask when Grandpa is coming to bed. It is the funniest thing but they love Hatari, Hellfighters and asundry of other boring John Wayne movies. So the last two pictures grandpa wanted to make sure Jaxson and Carter saw. He loves his Christmas ornament.

For those of you who know John need I say more!!!!!! We went to Redding this weekend because John had a meeting in Redding he had to attend on Sunday, so we went over Saturday night and came back Sunday evening. Sherrie (my sister) took care of Abby. Put her in the garage off her chain Saturday evening and put her outside for us on Sunday until we got home. You would think he left her forever. From the pictures you can tell how much they LOVE each other. I think it is crazy a big dog laying on his lap in his recliner!!!

OFF TO VEGAS TO CELEBRATE BECKY'S 30TH BIRTHDAY!!!

This last week I got to spend from Friday Night to Tuesday afternoon in Las Vegas with Becky for her 30th birthday. It was really fun to spend time with Becky without kids, thanks to Chris who was a trooper and took care of the kids so Becky could go to Vegas. We stayed in the Trump Towers which the room was fantastic!! I think Becky had a nice break and it was fun to spend time with just her. A big thanks to Chris and Kelly who helped make it possible by watching the kids. We went to St. George to the Tuachan Theatre and watched Jeremiah perform with the Young Ambassadors and we also got to visit with my Brother Kevins wife and kids. It was a fun time!!! I hope Becky had as much fun as I did. Was a great Idea for her birthday. I still can't believe she is 30!!

The Girls and grandkids decieded to come out this week at the last minuet because their paternal grandma was in the hospital. She was in the hospital two weeks of ups and downs and finally passed away exactly two weeks in the hospital friday. Needless to say it was not such a good two weeks but it has been great having the grandkids here for a visit. We had this Saturday to play finally and so we went to the Hammond trail and walked down the beach to see the Sea Lions that hang out there. The kids had a lot of fun and it was such a nice day, warm and no wind. John's brother, wife and son were here also and so they went with us too. Fun day with the cousin too. The boys also got some time riding their dune buggy at the shop too!!! Jaxson is getting pretty good at driving it now and gave Carter and Kaylee rides and they all had fun and there were not any wrecks or injuries!!! That was great!!! Johnny came too, but no kids he stayed home and watched Aubree for Kelly. Pictures of Aubrey to come!!!

For some reason I started this post and then I couldn't find my memory card and I couldn't find Kaylee's baby pictures on this computer. I think I have them on my one at work!!! So I deceided to finish this post with out them. Kaylee has the biggest smile and has such a great personality. She is fun to be around!!! Grandma loves her alot, although she is a lot like her mother. She loves to cause trouble with her cousins if she can and get away with it!!! She is such a fun kid. PROPOSITION 8

To all the people that read my blog and live in California I am urging you to vote YES on propsition 8 in the up coming election. If you feel like it is a discrimination to the rights of gay people I urge you to study the proposition more. If this law passes it will effect the religous freedoms that people have enjoyed in this country since it was established, which is why people came to this country. It does not take away the rights and freedoms that the gay people already enjoy in California, but it does take away the religouse freedom and rights of people who have religous beliefs. I urge you to study it carefully and Vote YES on 8.

Today is my oldest Grandson's Birthday!!! Jaxson is the greatest. He loves animals and he loves the water and always has. Here are a few pictures I had on my work computer I have of Jaxson when he was about 2 years old starting with his 2 year old birthday. He was at grandma's around his 2 year birthday. Grandma and Grandpa LOVE Jaxson and hope he has a TERRIFIC 6 year old Birthday today. Wish we could be there!!!!

31st Anniversary and the End of the Grandkids visits!!

John and I celebrated our 31st anniversary! It was Wed. Aug. 27th. It was less than exciting. We didn't do anything. We didn't even exchange a card. We keep telling each other we will celebrate later. It can't top last years trip to Niagra falls. That was the best trip ever. We went to Palmyra, New York and then we went up to the Canada side of Niagra Falls and stayed at the Marriott with a huge picture window overlooking the Horseshoe falls. If you haven't been there I highly recommend the trip! It was GREAT!!

This first picture is the view from our room of the falls and the last one is where they light the falls at night with colored lights. I need to figure out another trip to top that one!! It was a great anniversary.

Next tragedy is all the grandkids have gone home!!! SAD we had a fun summer. First Kelly and her kids came out the beginning of the July and stayed for 3 weeks, then Becky and Chris came for a week and Johnny and Zan came back for Johnny to work for Cal-Trans until the state budget gave him the axe!!! So he ended up working for his dad the rest of the summer. All have since left and the house is very quiet. Takes a little time to get use to it. Loved all the kids home for the summer. It was the best. I have to say I wasn't so good at getting the camera out towards the end of summer so you will have to look at the kids blogs to see pictures of the summer!! Hopefully better next time and hopefully we will do better on our anniversary next year!!!

Grandma & J.T's Trip to Utah with the Cousins

This Picture of Kaylee and J.T. is Hilarious, they have a jail at Thanksgiving Point. It was $2.00 Tuesday and it was packed full of people. I had to hurry and snap this and hope it turned out! all the kids loved going to jail!!!

Naturally in the whole place J.T. would find a tractor and want to ride it, even though we couldn't. I kept telling him it wasn't ours!!! He Thew a big tizzy over that one. I think I can thank his father, he loves all these contraptions.

J. T.'s dad didn't think he would like to ride the horses, he said they have tried with him in Sacramento and he said he didn't want anything to do with them. I must admit he loved them. He kept wanting to ride them again. You can't get the kid on a carousel horse, but he loved the ponies. He kept saying giddy up horsey!!! Soooooooooooo cute.

J.T. loved the baby bunnies. He kept wanting to go back to them. If I took my eyes off him he would run back there.

ALL THE COUSIN'S

J.T. Loves Becky's game room. There are so many toys he can't figure out which ones to play with. He likes the pirate ships and castle his cousins have along with the numerous guns and swords they have.

HAPPY 28th BIRTHDAY JOHNNY!!

Johnny turned 28 today!!! Can't believe how old he is getting and I still feel so Young!! Johnny is the greatest son anyone could ask for. He has a great wife and two of the greatest little boys ever. We had a quick little party for him and when J.T. ( his oldest son who is 2) and I went to pick out a card I saw a singing card with High School Musical on it and when you opened it, it played a song from the movie. His best friend Craig White is a fan of High school Musical and has been trying to get Johnny hooked with great resistance, but I figured the card could remind him of Craig!!! When Craig gave him his present it was the High School Musical Movie. Great minds thing alike Craig. Johnny loves them!!!! Thanks for being such a great son. Hopefully we will Celebrate better when we all get back home. We Love you Lots. Hope you had a great day even thought Dad is working you to death since the Governator terminated you. Hopefully you will get your job back soon.

I Can't believe Carter John is turning 4 today! He is the sweetest and has the neatest personality a 4 yr. old can have. I just love him. He always is excited to see Grandma and when Becky asked him who he wanted to invite to his Birthday party he said he wanted Grandma to come. So Carter, Happy Birthday and I will see you on Thursday afternoon. Can't wait for the big kiss and hug from you. I can't believe how big you are getting. Hope you had a great day today!!! J.T. And Grandma Time

Zan left today (Fri. 08-08-08) to go back to Sacramento to take care of her Primary calling ( Which is Primary Pres.) and then she flies out on Monday to Oaklahoma to visit her sister Paige who just had a baby and just moved there. Her sister Teresa (sp) is going to be there also. She took Kolter with her and I am going to watch J.T. even though dad will be around. I have been looking for cheap tickets to Utah and for some fluke I put a bid on priceline this morning for 230.00 and it accepted my offer so J.T. and Grandma are off to Utah for Carter's birthday. We fly out on Thursday the 14th and come back on the 20th and yes they gave us Delta direct flights on priceline ( I was greatly surprised because I was sure they would route us through San Francisco ) I am excited because Carter kept saying he wanted Grandma to come to his Birthday party.) It is going to be a fun week with J.T. and I am sure we will have lots of fun with the cousins in Utah!!! I know mommy will miss J.T. and I am also sure the time will fly by and we will be back with mommy. PICTURES WILL DEFINITLY FOLLOW!!!

The Royal Lipaizanner Stallions Show!!!

We went to the Royal Lipaizanner Horse show tonight!!! Tickets were $22.50 for Adults and $20.50 for kids 2 thru 16. Should I say unless you are a die hard through and through horse lover it was a total waste of money to watch and hour and a half show of horses prancing around an areana. I must say J.T. seemed to like the classical music at one point he was dancing to the music, I think he enjoyed the show. My Nieces little girl turned to me about half way through and said " I'm bored!!!!" I said " SO AM I "!!! Great to look at for the first 15 min. and then not so exciting after. I guess we can all say we have seen them once in our lives. WHOOPIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A SAD, SAD, SAD DAY IN AUGUST

This is a sorry site. It is the first weekend in August and YES the ski boat is sitting in our front yard. Such a sorry site. Grandpa and Grandma & J.T. headed out to the lake on Friday and when we arrived to the lake it was still tooooooo smokey. So we turned off the refridgerator on the Houseboat and brought the ski boat home out of the smoke and ash, poor J.T. just went for a long ride for nothing, but he was a trooper and was great company for Grandpa and Grandma. We or I should say Zan, J.T. and Grandpa spent half the day Saturday cleaning the boat and getting all the ash off. I am so bummed that our summer is ruined. I am now praying for rain to put the fires out so we can enjoy maybe the end of summer. Needless to say Zan did a terrific job cleaning the boat with the help of J.T. and the boat looks brand spanking new again!!!!! THANKS ZAN!!!!! The only saving grace of the weekend was that It was a beautiful day all day on the coast!!!! I loved it!!!!!!!

Doobie Brothers Concert

Tonight John and I went to the Doobie Brothers concert at the Arkley Center. I think that is the most rock & Roll I have listened to since High School. The music was good, brought back lots of memories, but I still can't believe I listened to that kind of music. I listen to a lot of country music now. What a difference in music. Fun time, but I don't think I will be hearing good for a few days.

Finally a Little Lake Time

It was really fun to finally be able to spend some time at the lake this year with the kids. We got one week-end with John and Zan and their two kids Kolter and J.T. that was the week-end of the Thunder and Lightning storm and then Becky and Chris and Kelly and their kids came and we got 2 good days of the lake until the smoke came in and smoked us out. I can't wait to see if we get any more lake time. Can't stand the smoke. Fires need to go away!!! Had soooo much fun with the kids. Can't wait to do it again. Next year won't come soon enough!!!
